Whether you&#8217;re looking for a chance to win some cash or simply to play a game of skill, there&#8217;s an online casino for you. The good news is that they&#8217;re legal in a number of countries, including the US. However, there are some important rules to follow if you&#8217;re planning to gamble online.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to gambling in casinos, there are also virtual poker games and sports betting. While each state has different laws and regulations, some of the most progressive states have approved fully operational online sports betting sites.<\/p>\n<p>As with any new form of gambling, there have been some interesting challenges to the legality of internet gambling. Some of these are on constitutional grounds, while others deal with the complexities of the Commerce Clause.<\/p>\n<p>A number of federal criminal statutes have been implicated, particularly those that deal with illegal Internet gambling. These include the Wire Act, the UIGEA, and the Illegal Gambling Business Act.<\/p>\n<p>The UIGEA prohibits banks and other financial transaction providers from enabling illegal Internet bets. The law also prohibits a company from taking financial instruments from a user who made an illegal Internet bet.<\/p>\n<p>The Travel Act, on the other hand, bans interstate commerce in illegal gambling. In 2013, the state of Nevada officially approved online casino gambling.
